Americans travel to china to farm IRL WoW Gold
When World of Warcraft entered the global eSports stage, Pandemic became the first organization to announce their sponsorship of a team even before the World Series of Video Games announced their support of the game. Now, the team formerly known as Power Trip stands at the top of Blizzard’s Arena standings in the regional stage of their world tournament. This week, however, they have their eyes set on a much more enticing title: that of World Series of Video Games champion. While Blizzard’s prizes are substantial, they’re a mere pittance compared to the $300,000 available for the WSVG’s WoW tour.
Attacking the WSVG at the first stop in China is both a daunting and rewarding task. While Pandemic has recently focused on 5v5 competition and Blizzard’s online ladder, they have made sure to keep their 3v3 tactics keen as a blade’s edge. Their 3v3 team, Spooks, currently has the 10th highest rating worldwide playing from perhaps the toughest battlegroup.
