Gamestop has decided to get in on the Wii accessory madness itself, introducing its own line of Wii add-ons of varying utility. Some of the gear includes a Sports Pack, similar to what the Japanese have gotten, a new, lighted, console stand, and a nice looking controller grip.

Gamestop and EB Games is offering $100 off the purchase of a PS3 by handing over your PS2. The PS3 does play PS2 games, albeit a little jagged, so getting $100 off for trading it in could be construed as a good deal -- especially if you're part of the PS2 sporadic "disc read error" crew. This advertisement and deal is one the first true signs that retailers have stock and want those systems out the door.

Those hoping to get their hands on a PlayStation 3 at launch time had today circled on their calendars. More precisely, this morning. GameStop and EB Games started taking preorders for the very limited number of consoles they will have available at launch time.

If you’re itching to get your sweaty mits on a PS3 as soon as possible, we have the next best thing. A PS3 preorder! You’re in luck because EB/Gamestop is going to start accepting pre-orders TOMORROW. Since each store will only be getting 10-15 consoles in the first wave, you need to be between the first and fifthteenth person to get you pre-order down on paper. Good luck, you’re going to need it!

Considering how few PS3s will be available at launch, the chaos is going to be amazing.
EBGamestop's big yearly show is over, and one manager don't inspire confidence about the system launches coming up.
Arstechnica asked his feelings going into the PS3 launch with no word on allocations or preorders, and no news on what will happen towards the holidays. "It's going to be ugly, there is no way this launch is going to go well."
