In the mad frenzy of trying to get a PS3 at a local Wal-mart, one man got slammed into a flagpole and ends up in the hospital.

Personally, I wouldn't mind it if the promotion had them running out 1 mile to the 10 chairs... all those poor gamers would've had to be really fit to make it to the finish line !

I'm sure it'll sell out in the States as well...

The console officially went on sale on 11 November but Sony only made 100,000 machines available on launch day.

Instead of opening at midnight, stores organised lotteries to decide who in the queue would get a long-awaited PS3.

Excerpt from article:Sadly, though, Sony is sticking firm with its North American PS3 plans. "In the US, we're comfortable with the pricing that we announced at E3--$499 for the 20 gigabyte version and $599 for the 60-gigabyte version," Sony Computer president Kaz Hirai told GameSpot. Today's news of a European delay for PS3 might have seemed like a blessing to some in the U.S. freeing up much needed stock for the launch over here. It might even have seemed like Sony had finally swallowed its pride and agreed that a worldwide launch is a bad idea. These would have been good things.

Sony has now released new PLAYSTATION 3 hardware pictures. The new pictures show the PS3 much more up close and personal.

Not great, Not bad. I don't like the curved design, I think it's impractical for a home appliance, but that's just a preference.

According to an Amazon Japan poll. Pre-order registration for the 60GB PlayStation 3 edges out Nintendo's Wii in the popularity contest. Interest in the 20GB PS3 is significantly lower. The 60GB PS3 comes with an open price, but rumor has that it will retails for around 70,000 yen (US $600). Unfazed, consumers are registering for the product in droves.
