It looks like many of the issues with PS2 games are fixed, and that's great news to people who want to get rid of their old systems when they move to a PS3. Final Fantasy X-2 looks great, no jaggies or artifacts. Resident Evil 4 looks just as good as I remember. This is a big deal, and a large problem with the PS3 has disappeared.
The Playstation Store seems to be more responsive, it doesn't feel as sluggish as I move from item to item; pages also seem to load faster. It makes the process a lot zippier.

There’s one major upside to having selling an expensive piece of electronics with an upgradeable firmware; you can fix all the little nagging issues you find after sending the specs to manufacturing without having to recall every little machine. A second update is planned for the end of November, this time to enable PSP...

A couple of members have notice a new addition to their 360's since the update this morning. Media is now tagged with a "Does not expire" message. Obviously this could only mean one thing, DRM for downloads.

This means you wont be able to continue playing that same demo over and over again without finally going out to buy the game. It's a smart more for MS to help aid in the purchase of games after they are...

The new update offers some truly brand unique features, you will see the XNA launch pad (to run homebrew games freely made with the free XNA studio express for amateur developers), the white Xbox Live arcade image logo loading screen which replaces the traditional logo and a few more cool things. Better yet, it's scheduled for a release in November with lots of features which games shipped after this period will be able to take advantage of.
